HI
My name is Daryna, I am 24 years, born in the West of Ukraine.
After a short period of studying law, I chose to pursue a more authentic path in the visual arts. I was subsequently admitted to the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, where I focused on easel and monumental painting.
Alongside my studies, I rented a small studio at the Instytut Avtomatyky in Kyiv and began developing an independent art practice that bridges abstract and figurative approaches.
My artistic interests center on the themes of fragility, subjective perception, the nature of reality, war, mortality, and collective memory.
I work in both abstract and figurative forms, using oils, pastels, and charcoal as my main mediums, while also experimenting with clay.
In my abstract work, I’m inspired by the outside world: its lines, shapes, and rhythms. My figurative pieces usually come from the images appearing in the unconscious.
